Changes in accommodations, expedition dates, & additional researchers

I received news from Earthwatch that Dr. Dyer has a family commitment on August 15th and our expedition is closing one day early - August 14th. There is a "traditional final dinner" on August 13th and we will be free to leave for home on the 14th.

Also, our accommodations have changed for due to scheduling conflicts at the research station. We will be sleeping at Cave Creek Ranch. I am providing you the link so you can view this beautiful 7 acre habitat. http://www.cavecreekranch.com

We will be eating and working at the Southwest Research Station (SWRS) which is just a short distance down the road. Here is the link for SWRS - it is FULL of information.

In addition, two well-known caterpillar biologists and their postdocs and students will be staying with us and have agreed to give lectures and spend time in the field with us. These biologists are Dr. Dave Wagner (author of Eastern Caterpillars, professor at the University of Connecticut) and Dr. Mike Singer (studies self-medication by caterpillars, professor at Wesleyan University).

I need to do some more research on the types of animals and insects found in this region. I plan on becoming familiar with them so I am knowledgeable, especially since some are potentially poisonous. The best plan is to be prepared!

I leave in 38 days.....I remember when I was first accepted and the countdown was about 100 days........how time flies!
